Air Ambulance on the scene at Poulton helicopter crash

Earlier today North West Air Ambulance helicopter emergency service (Helimed 08 based at Blackpool Airport) was tasked to attend an aviation incident at Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. Our helicopter landed on the salt marshes first on the scene but our paramedics were unable to offer any assistance to the occupants. The Police have confirmed that two people died in the crash and we offer our condolences and thoughts to the families of those who died.

Lynda Brislin, Chief Executive of North West Air Ambulance said: “This is a tragic loss of life and our crew were at the scene within minutes of being called. The fact that the crash involved a helicopter was a very difficult situation for us to deal with and our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives.”
